New Mexico Dressage Association Schooling Show at TEC
Imagine a daywith the temperature in the mid-80’s, a brilliant blue sky, a gentle breeze and you have a picture postcard kind of day. That’s the kind of day that the competitors, volunteers, and audience enjoyed at the recent schooling show held at Taos Equestrian Center in Des Montes, NM. In addition to local participants, we enjoyed hosting riders from Los Alamos, Santa Fe, Albuquerque and even Colorado!
Congrats to all our high point winners – they are listed on the results page. Thanks to all who donated prizes: Holly Johnson, DVM; Judith Hovetter (Moveable Beast); Alex Sternhagen; Judy Huddleston; and Katherine Pettus.
Thanks to all of our volunteers: Ruth Bourgeouis and Ellen Wicai manned the office in the morning as well as kept track of the gate and ran for the judge; Mary Madden took over gatekeeper duties after her ride and Betsy Wolf joined us as afternoon runner. Katherine Pettus and her crew set up the arena and she spent the day solving problems, coordinating lunch, and reading tests for riders just to mention a few things! Our judge was Michelle Baca, and Cindy Begay came up from Albuquerque to scribe. My thanks to everyone who helped with the show – I couldn’t do it without you!
Mark your calendars for the TEC Halloween Schooling Show to be held on Sunday, 1 November. Wear your costume (horses and riders) for a chance to win prizes. Tests will be Intro through 4th level and stabling will be available. Watch the TEC and NMDA websites for the show premium and more information.
